On April 26, Belgian Foreign Minister Lahbib pointed out in the Chamber of Representatives regarding Taiwan's participation in professional international organizations and the WHA. The Belgian government supports Taiwan's meaningful participation in specialized international organizations to present its professional functions. Based on Taiwan's experience in managing the pandemic and other public health challenges, the Belgian government therefore considers it appropriate to invite Taiwan as an observer to the next WHA and to improve access of Taiwanese experts to WHO technical meetings.
Taiwan appreciates the Belgium government’s support for Taiwan's meaningful participation in specialized international organizations and attending the World Health Assembly (WHA) as an observer and and will continue to explore creative ways to deepen our cooperation and partnership with like-minded democracies.
