KU Leuven’s 600th Anniversary Celebrations: "Multilingual and Cultural Week"—Taiwanese Calligraphy Workshop
分享到
The Taipei Representative Office in the EU and Belgium has collaborated with KU Leuven for many years to offer Chinese language courses at its Brussels campus.
To further enhance students’ understanding of Taiwanese culture and introduce them to Taiwan’s education landscape, on February 12, 2026, the Education Division and KU Leuven co-hosted a Taiwanese calligraphy workshop as part of the "Multilingual and Cultural Week" series of events in honor of the university's 600th anniversary.
The event piqued the interest of numerous university students who explored Taiwanese culture and learned about the various scholarships available for studying in Taiwan.
Under the guidance of two Mandarin teachers invited by the Education Division, the students enjoyed writing characters in calligraphy, created Spring Festival couplets, and made their first works of paper-cutting art. The teachers also introduced them to aspects of Taiwanese culture and provided information about studying in Taiwan and available scholarships.
Throughout the activities, the students showed a keen interest in other Taiwan-related matters, frequently asking questions about a range of topics. The event allowed the students to gain a deeper understanding of Taiwan’s culture, education system, and people.
