Ambassador Lily Li-Wen Hsu was delighted to attend the Closing Ceremony for the “Women and Youth Empowerment in Climate-Smart Agricultural Entrepreneurship” training program on October 25 at the University of Belize Central Farm Campus. The training was funded by TaiwanICDF under the Belize-Taiwan Women’s Empowerment Project cooperative framework, and was collaborated between the governments of Belize and Taiwan, and with the UB. Over 30 women from the community participated in the vermiculture and vermicomposte training, a sustainable method to transform organic waste into nutrient-rich compost. The program aims to empower women and youth in climate-smart agricultural entrepreneurship.
The Embassy is honored to work with the Government of Belize and UB to promote women’s economic empowerment and contribute to green economy in Belize.
