Ambassador Lily Li-Wen Hsu was delighted to attend the Closing Ceremony of “Digital Inclusion Program” at Fort George Digital Connect Center on August 9. The program was collaborated between the Taiwan ICDF, Ministry of E-Governance of Belize and UNDP.
Under the Taiwan-Belize partnership, 8 Digital Connect Centers have been launched and 20 digital training courses were held, benefiting more than 350 youths and adults. Together with UNDP, a network of total 14 Digital Connect Centers has been established around the nation, contributing to bridge the digital divide in Belize.
Also in attendance at the ceremony were, Hon. Henry Charles Usher, Area Representative of Fort George, Hon. Oscar Requena, Minister of Rural Transformation, Community Development, Local Government & Labour, Hon. Ramon Cervantes, Minister of State in the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Climate Change, Mrs. Roxanna Aleman-Richards, Programme Associate of UNDP, Mr. Jose Urbina, CEO in the Ministry of Public Utilities, Energy, Logistics & E-Governance, Mr. Robert Pan, Chief of the Taiwan Technical Mission in Belize, along with representatives from several Digital Connect Centers around the country.
As a committed development partner, Taiwan is honored to play a part in Belize’s digital transformation and looks forward to working with the Government of Belize to implement more meaningful projects to benefit the Belizean people.
