At the invitation of the Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan), the Special Envoy for Women and Children of Belize Mrs. Kim Simplis Barrow leads a delegation of four persons to visit Taiwan from July 5th to 10th 2015.
Since Mrs. Barrow was appointed as the Special Envoy for Women and Children in 2009, she has made significant efforts in helping the handicapped children in Belize. Mrs. Barrow launched a campaign to establish the “Inspiration Center” in 2011, intending to provide a shelter for the handicapped children. Regardless of the challenge of her own health, Mrs. Barrow has been working tirelessly in raising fund for the Center. With the opening of the Belize Inspiration Center in September 2013, affordable medical service and assistance have thus been accessible to the disadvantaged children in Belize. Mrs. Barrow’s tireless devotion for many years finally bears fruits. To recognize her outstanding contribution over the years, Chou,Ta-Kuan Foundation, a prestigious NGO in Taiwan, will award her “Fervent Global Love of Lives” medal during her visit.
Humanitarian aid is one of the most dynamic and successful programs for cooperation between the Republic of China (Taiwan) and Belize. The purpose for inviting Mrs. Barrow to visit the Republic of China (Taiwan) is to strengthen the exchange in the field of humanitarian assistance between Belize and Taiwan. The itinerary for her visit this time includes visiting NGOs to explore potential partnerships and look for donation of medical equipment for the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Mei-ching Chow, First Lady of the Republic of China (Taiwan) will host a dinner for Mrs. Barrow and her entourage. Mrs. Jennifer Ho, wife of H.E.
