[Application Submission]
- By Appointment: You can make an appointment by phone (613-231-5080) or email (canserv@mofa.gov.tw). Appointments are held for a maximum of 10 minutes.
- In-Person Submission: Our counter service for consular affairs is available from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday. In case someone has already made an appointment during those hours, priority will be given to the scheduled appointment, so please be patient if you need to wait.
- Mail Submission (Please retain the mail tracking number): Please address the package to:

[Pick-Up/Delivery]
The working days for processing start from the day we receive the mail or when all required documents are complete.
- By Mail: Applicants should provide a PRE PAID self-addressed return envelope or shipping label with receipt.
- In-person pick-up: We will notify applicants of the pick-up time via phone or email.
[Processing Time]
- Passport: E-passports take 20 to 30 working days; MRP passports (not containing electronic chips; one-year validity) take 5 working days.
- Document Certification: 5 to 7 working days.
- Visa: Visa exemption for Canadian passport holders for 90 days. Those requiring a visa for other reasons will be notified for pick-up after meeting the issuance conditions and passing the review.
[Other Important Notes]
- Application Fees: For document authentication, the fee for each document is $20. For fees for visas, please refer to this page for each types of visas. Kindly ensure to prepare the exact amount in cash (no change will be given) or issue a Bank Draft/Cheque/Money Order (payable to Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Canada).
- Return Envelope: Please bring a self-addressed Xpresspost return envelope from Canada Post or use another international courier company (FedEx, DHL, UPS) to mail the return slip. Please retain and manage the tracking code for the return mail; we do not provide phone or email inquiries for return envelope tracking codes.
※ To avoid issues such as lost documents or the inability to track mail progress, we have temporarily suspended the service of receiving international postage from Canada Post to Taiwan. For international mail, please provide the Air Waybills from a courier company (such as FedEx, DHL, UPS). - To ensure the health of applicants and our staff, if applicants have symptoms such as fever and cough, please postpone the in-person visit and reschedule for another time.
