On Tuesday morning, Ambassador Tseng attended the 58th National Prayer Breakfast held at the Shaw Center in Ottawa. The guests at the main table included Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Pierre Poilievre, Leader of the Conservative Party, Raymonde Gagne, Speaker of the Senate, Chris d'Entremont, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and other dignitaries.
Following the official remarks, the Chair of the National Prayer Breakfast, MP Richard Bragdon, MP John McKay of the Liberal Party, MP Leslyn Lewis of the Conservative Party, MP Daniel Blakie of the New Democratic Party, and MP Elizabeth May, Leader of the Green Party, prayed for the congregation on behalf of their respective parties.
The purpose of the non-partisan Breakfast is to invite leaders and members from different parties to meet and pray together so as to foster positive relationships among each other. Such relationships would facilitate the effectiveness of the Parliament.
During the breakfast, Ambassador Tseng greeted the Canadian Senators and MPs who were present and conveyed his best wishes to the gathering.
