Team Taiwan showcased their exceptional skills and determination at the recently concluded 2023 YONEX Canadian Para Badminton International held in Ottawa from June 14-18, clinching two silver medals and two bronze medals.
Jen Yu Fang, the reigning gold medalist from the previous year, displayed remarkable resilience throughout the tournament. Despite falling short against the Malaysian world champion Cheah Liek Hou in a thrilling finals match, he made all who cheered for him proud by giving his best effort.
Other members of the team also faced off with formidable contenders from top nations including Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Spain, Germany, France, and the host country Canada. Their commendable progress in this Level 1 international event serves as a testament to their hard work.
With this successful competition under their belt, Team Taiwan now sets their sights on the next major event: the 2024 Paris Paralympics. The athletes will continue to train diligently and strive for further achievements, representing Taiwan with pride on the global stage.
