In celebration of the 2015 Vancouver Heritage Month, the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vancouver presents a series of films from the Republic of China (Taiwan) from May 1 to 31. A total of 30 Taiwanese films will enable people to get a glimpse of the beauty of Taiwan cinema and also offer the most entertaining way to appreciate Taiwan’s diverse culture and vibrant society.

Reel Asian-Films from Taiwan
This event is co-hosted by the Richmond Public Library and the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vancouver.

Film: “Song of the Forest”
Shot in 2010, this 60-minute eco-documentary is about the interaction between men and forestry in Taiwan, winning the Silver World Medal in the Nature & Wildlife category at the 2011 New York Festivals.

Film: “Soul”
Shot in 2013, this 90- minute thriller has won awards at the Taipei Film Festival and the Golden Horse Awards.

A Bridge to Taiwan- Series of 28 Taiwan Films
This event is co-hosted by the Taiwanese Canadian Cultural Society and the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vancouver. It will feature 28 films representing different time periods, including early Taiwanese vernacular films, significant works from the New Film Movement, and prizewinners from international film festivals.
