The second Taiwanese Canadian Cultural Festival was held from July 12 to 14, 2019 at the Richmond Olympic Oval.
TECO Director General Andy Chen and officials from the Canadian federal, provincial and municipal governments attended the opening ceremony on July 12. Mr. Chen thanked the organizer, Taiwanese Canadian Cultural Society, for its tireless efforts in promoting cultural exchanges between Taiwan and Canada. He hoped TCCS will continue to introduce more cultural programs from Taiwan to the Canadian audience. Other honoured guests also praised Taiwanese Canadians’ contribution to Canada’s cultural, economic and social development.
Three groups from Taiwan performed on stage, including Taiwanese opera by Wu-Yuan, classical music by I-Lan Youth Orchestra and creative dance by Lovedancing Group. The audience also enjoyed a 30-minute performance by Taipei First Girls’ High School Marching Band and Honour Guard after the opening ceremony.
