Do you know where you could have this delicious black sesame chicken rice? It's at the Humber's International Education week!
Dr. Paul Lan, the director of the Cultural Center and Ms. Weilun Ko from TECO were invited by the Humber College to participate the International Education week. They met with Ms. Alvina Cassiani, Senior Dean of the Longo Faculty of Business, and to visit the Taiwan Cultural booth, which was run by 6 exchange students from the National Kaohsiung University of Hospitality and Tourism (NKUHT). They decorated the Taiwan Cultural Booth with Hakka oil-paper umbrellas, and also arranged activities such as calligraphy and using chopsticks using. They also served the black sesame chicken rice and winter-melon tea, which has attracted many students and teachers to have a taste of Taiwan.
The partnership between Humber College and NKUHT has continued for more than 20 years. Professors from each sides visit each other periodically. Moreover, Humber and Tzu Chi also collaborated in 2018 to establish a non-profit traditional Chinese medicine clinic in the campus.
The exchanges in higher education between Taiwan and Canada has kept thriving. We look forward to see more cooperation to come!
