1. Disclaimer and Important Notice
   • We can only legalize Swiss and Liechtenstein documents. Documents from other countries need to be legalized at the relevant R.O.C. representative office in their country of origin.
   • We provide visa and legalization services for Switzerland and Liechtenstein with the exception of the cantons Geneva, Vaud, Valais and Neuchâtel. Documents from those four cantons can only be legalized at the "Bureau de Genève, Délégation culturelle et économique de Taipei" (tel. 022 9197070, 56, rue de Moillebeau, 1209 Genève, roc-taiwan.org/chgva).
   • We can only legalize documents that have previously been legalized by either one of the chanceries of State of Switzerland (Staatskanzlei, Chancellerie d'État, Cancelleria dello Stato) or the Swiss Federal Chancery (Bundeskanzlei, Chancellerie Fédérale) or by the government's chancery (Regierungskanzlei) of Liechtenstein.    • We can only legalize originals. True copies cannot be legalized by us.
   • Once all the necessary documents have arrived at our office, your application will usually be processed within 3 to 4 working days. However, at busy times during the year, legalizations can take longer. We do not guarantee that 4 working days will suffice. Express service costs more and is only available upon previous consultation with our office. Under no circumstance can a legalization be issued on the same day.

2. How to apply for a Legalization

Applications for Legalizations need to contain all of the following documents:

1. Original document with original signature and stamp of one of the above mentioned chanceries
2. Copy of the document
3. Completely fulfilled and signed application form (For firms please fill out Nr. 1, 2 3, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10; for private applicants Nr. 1 to 10.)
4. Fee, normal legalizations cost CHF 14.- per document legalized, i.e. per original signature made by one of the above mentioned chanceries
5. A prepaid registered envelope addressed to you so we can return your documents back to you (CHF 5.80, Swiss Post).
6. Further documents depending on the nature of the applicant:

6a) For Private Applicants:

• a copy of identity card or passport

6b) For Firms:

• a copy of the firm's registry of commerce (Handelsregisterauszug). If you want to legalize a power of attorney, the issuer of the power of attorney must be listed in the registry of commerce as an authorized signatory for the firm (Unterschriftsberechtigter).

6c) For Agents:

• a letter of attorney and a copy of both client's and agent's identity card/passport or Commercial Register (Handelsregisterauszug). The Letter of Attorney issued to the agent needs to content the period of validity and must be legalized by one of the chancellery of states in Switzerland (Staatskanzlei/Chancellerie d'Etat) or the federal chancellery of Switzerland (Bundeskanzlei/Chancellerie Fédérale.)
