Sri Lankan nationals applying for Taiwan (ROC) visitor visas must fulfill the procedure of this section:
- Effective immediately, applications for tourist visas are suspended. Please refer to the notes below for further details.
- Sri Lankan nationals may apply for Taiwan (ROC) visitor visas for the following purposes:
- Invited by Taiwan (ROC) government agencies on official missions.
- Participating in international meetings or activities for the purposes of religious, athletic, or cultural exchange, which are held by the organizations set up in Taiwan (ROC).
- Visiting dependents with legal residence status in Taiwan (ROC), including spouse, family members of lineal relationship, or siblings.
- Conducting economic or commercial businesses.(including accompanied spouse and children)
- Crew members intending to come to Taiwan (ROC) to report for duty.
- Medical treatment.
- Sri Lankan nationals may apply for Taiwan (ROC) visitor visas only at the Taipei Representative Office in Republic of Singapore and Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in Chennai.
Attention:
- According to Article 12 of Statute Governing Issuance of ROC Visa in Foreign Passports, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of the R.O.C. or ROC overseas missions are not required to give any reason to a visa applicant for refusal.
- Visa requirements for Sri Lankan nationals:
- A letter of guarantee must be provided by a guarantor in Taiwan (ROC), who must be a Taiwan (ROC) national ID card holder. The said letter of guarantee must be authenticated by the Bureau of Consular Affairs, branch offices of MOFA, or Taiwan (ROC) overseas missions.
- In addition to the required documents for the visa application, all applicants must submit a no criminal record, proof of financial resources, proof of accommodation in Taiwan (ROC), and a return ticket.
- The forms of visa application and Guarantee can be downloaded from the Bureau's website and are available free of charge at the Bureau of Consular Affairs and branch offices of MOFA.
