Driving in Taiwan
Those who hold a foreign countries' international driving permit won't be able to change from ROC's/Taiwan's driving licence and free test . Furthermore, those who stay a short time in Taiwan within thirty days , also , having held a valid international driving permit which was issued by our reciprocal nation will be allowed driving car exempt from registration . In case of stay in Taiwan over thirty days , still , should fill in an international driving permit application form for registration in Motor Vehicle Office . One year is the longest period for an international driving permit's registration , in case of the original permit's or the Alien Residence Certificate's valid period isn't over one year , account for which one the date comes up first , they won't be allowed driving car if the certificate is expired.
