New Prime Minister in Denmark appointed by the Queen

As Denmark is a monarchy, the new Prime Minister was officially appointed by Queen Margrethe II at a ceremony, June 27 at the Queen’s Palace in Copenhagen. Ms. Frederiksen will be the youngest prime minister to Denmark in the country’s history (aged 41).
Upon her official appointment, the new government and its ministers met the outgoing government at the Prime Minister’s Office. In her speech, Ms. Mette Frederiksen thanked the defeated Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen (Liberal Party) for a fair election race and for being a very skilled and professional politician even though they disagree.
As is the tradition, the outgoing government and the new government exchanged presents with a symbolic meaning. Ms. Mette Frederiksen gave Mr. Lars Løkke Rasmussen a bicycle jersey, as the outgoing Prime Minister is fond of bicycling and managed to get the famous Tour De France race to Denmark. The present from the outgoing Prime Minister were craftsman trousers, as a message that Ms. Frederiksen now has to get down to work.
