Fiji's Vitawa Village Welcoming the Stock of White Shrimp Larvae and Rabbit Fish Fry

On June 13, Amb. Dr. Charles Li, Secretary General of the TaiwanICDF led a delegation from Taiwan to inspect the Caboni Multi-hatchery Station, managed by the Taiwan Technical Mission (@TTM FIJI). Following the inspection, they participated in the stocking event of white shrimp larvae and rabbit fish fry in Vitawa village. This event was attended and witnessed by representatives from the Fiji Ministry of Fisheries and Forestry, the USAID Pacific American Fund (PAF) Office, local chief, and local residents, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere.
In his speech, Secretary-General Lee mentioned that Taiwan and Fiji have cooperated in the agriculture and fisheries sectors for 46 years. He expressed his honor in witnessing the results of aquaculture technology cooperation between Fiji and Taiwan. An Regional Official from the Fiji Ministry of Fisheries and Forestry thanked TTM for its contributions to the white shrimp supply chain and capacity building, noting that these efforts not only enhance economic development but also provide a source of nutrition for residents and improve livelihoods. The USAID PAF Office representative thanked the mission for its contributions and emotionally stated that today's event fully demonstrates the power of diverse partnerships, empowering the local community and sustaining livelihoods.
