Ambassador Tao Wen-lung and Mr. Dankó Béla, member of the Hungarian Parliament
Ambassador Tao Wen-lung, at the invitation of Mr. Dankó Béla, member of the Hungarian Parliament representing Béké County, joined the county’s table at the Csabai kolbászfesztivál in making paprika-spiced Hungarian sausages on October 24, 2015.
With the assistance of local sausage makers, Mr. Szabó Lázló, Mr. Sipos Lázló and Mr. Bánki Gyula, the staff of the Taipei Representative Office kneaded the sausages, experiencing one of their best Hungarian experiences.
Earlier in the day, Ambassador Tao, accompanied by MP Dankó, toured Hungaro-Food factory to get a first-hand glimpse at local sausage production. Ambassador Tao pointed out that Taiwan is interested in quality meat products, in fact, Hungarian pork has already been imported to Taiwan.
After kneading the sausages, Ambassador Tao visited the tent of the Food and Agriculture Exhibition and took part in cooking traditional Hungarian soup at the booth of the Hungarian Chamber of Agriculture.
Csabai kolbászfesztivál, held from October 22 to 25 this year, is billed as one of the best European food festivals, with regular participants from the Czech Republic, Germany, Serbia and other neighboring countries. The festival has attracted about 10,000 people in recent years. Békéscsaba, a city in Béké County, is located in southeastern Hungary about 200 kilometers from Budapest.
