Cape No. 7 (2008)
Aga is a young man from Hengchun, Pingtung, the southernmost town on the island of Taiwan. After ten years of a lackluster rock-music career in Taipei, he gives up and returns home in fury and frustration. Tomoko, a Japanese fashion model working in Taiwan, is asked to put together the opening for an upcoming beach concert in Hengchun by using only local talents. However, it’s difficult to recruit band members in this tiny seaside town. Aga, now a reluctant postman, meets Tomoko and, during the process of forming a band and through the magic of seven undeliverable love letters, they become a pair of quarrelsome lovers. At last, they put together a local rock band and give a marvelous performance. They also find out the addressee of the seven love letters—an old lady separated from her Japanese lover 60 years ago when Taiwan was returned to the ROC in 1945.
