The Indonesian Government Raises Foreigner Overstay Fines

Since May 3, 2019, Indonesian Immigration has increased administrative fines for foreigners who overstayed, from 300,000 rupiah per day to 1,000,000 rupiah per day (around NT $ 2,200). The total fine is an accumulation of the period exceeding the residence permit per day. Taiwanese citizens must pay attention to the visa stay applied in Indonesia to avoid violating the law.

If Taiwan citizens enter Indonesia with a visa waiver, the maximum permit is 30 days and cannot be extended. If Taiwan citizens enter Indonesia with a landing visa, the stay permit is also 30 days, but you can go to the immigration office in Indonesia to extend it (up to 30 days, but only once).

If a Taiwanese citizen wants to negotiate a business in Indonesia, he must submit an appropriate visa application for business. Other non-tourism activities please apply the designated visa according to you visit purpose.  if  violation found there  will be fine, detain or even deportation according to the law in Indonesia.
