TETO Surabaya Announcement : Temporary Border Control Measures in Response to the Ebola Outbreak

In accordance with the Ebola outbreak prevention and control measures issued by the Centers for Disease Control under the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the issuance of visas to residents of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda will be suspended effective 12:00 a.m. on June 2, 2026; Holders of already issued visas are temporarily prohibited from entering the country during this period. This provisional measure will remain in effect for 90 days, with the following exceptions: degree-seeking students who have obtained admission to Taiwanese institutions, diplomatic and official personnel, non-Taiwanese spouses of Taiwanese nationals and their minor children, as well as cases involving emergency or humanitarian assistance. As for residents of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda who have been issued visas by Taiwan within the past three months but have not yet entered the country, their visas will be revoked in accordance with regulations. The above measures are subject to adjustment and announcement at any time based on changes in the epidemic situation and Taiwan’s overall epidemic prevention policies.
