The “East Asia Film Festival Ireland 2018 - Extreme Light: Taiwanese Cinematographer Mark Lee Ping-Bing" will be held from April 5th to 8th at the "Irish Film Institute (IFI)" cinema. The internationally renowned "Taiwan Cinematographer" Li Ping-Bin will visit Ireland to participate in the grand celebration. All the film lovers are encouraged and welcome to join.
Li Ping-Bin is a Taiwan film cinematographer with a stellar reputation in the international film industry. He won the “Taipei International Golden Horse Award” best photography award and the “National Literature and Art Achievement Award-- Light of The Cinema Award” in Taiwan.
The festival will heavily centre on the works of Mr. Li Ping-Bin, which include “In the Mood for Love”, “The Best Times”, “Seventy Seven Days”, “Spring Time in a Small Town” and the documentary “Let the Wind Carry Me” is a documentary directed by Kwan Pun-Leung and Chiang Hsiu-Chiung that focuses on Li Ping-Bin’s outstanding career in photography. Additionally, Li Ping-Bin will host a “Master Lecture” alongside Tim Fleming, a renowned photographer in the Irish Society of Cinematographers, to discuss film photography and the experience of filming.
The festival will also screen “The Great Buddha” by Taiwan’s cutting-edge director Hsin-Yao Huang, as well as six short animated films curated by Dr. Wang Chi-sui of the “National Taipei University of the Arts” in Taiwan.
Additionally, the festival will screen several films from various other parts of Eastern Asia, including Ai WeiWei’s “Human Flow” documentary, Korean Hong Sang-Soo’s “On the Beach at Night Alone” and “Claire’s Camera”
Singaporean Eric Khoo's “Ramen Shop” and Hong Kong Raman Hui 's "Minster Hunt 2".
