The Taiwan Ireland Association hosted a National Day luncheon on 5 October 2025, bringing together members of the Taiwanese community and friends from across Ireland in a warm and festive gathering. Ambassador Tang, joined by his spouse and colleagues from the Taipei Representative Office, attended the event to celebrate together.
In his remarks, Ambassador Tang noted that the Republic of China (Taiwan) is about to celebrate its 114th National Day. Over the years, Taiwan has grown into a free, democratic, and prosperous society. This year, Taiwan ranked 2nd in Asia in Freedom House’s Global Freedom Report and 6th worldwide in the IMD World Competitiveness Yearbook — achievements made possible by the hard work of people both at home and abroad.
Ambassador Tang also highlighted Taiwan’s strong cultural vitality. Following last year’s participation in the Taiwan Pavilion at the Cultural Olympiad in Paris, Taiwan is now promoting the "Taiwan Culture in Europe" program, showcasing art and heritage to foster deeper cultural exchange and understanding with European partners.
He expressed heartfelt thanks to the Taiwan Ireland Association and members of the overseas community for organizing the luncheon, and wished everyone a joyful Mid-Autumn Festival and a happy birthday to our nation!
The event also featured a lively Irish dance performance by The Dowling School of Irish Dancing, arranged by the Dublin School of Mandarin Chinese, inviting guests to join in and enjoy the vibrant Taiwan–Ireland friendship on display!
