Taiwan Donates First Batch of Medical Supplies to support Bhutan combating Covid -19

Bhutan has been relatively successful in managing the COVID-19 pandemic in comparison to other countries in the region. However, with the emergence of the Omicron variant, Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital, and many other districts in the country are presently under lockdown due to the surge of infection, causing heavy pressure on Bhutan’s health system.
The Gyalyum Charitable Trust, a public charity organization of Bhutan reached out to the Government of Taiwan through the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in India for donation of COVID-19 emergency relief supplies to address the challenges currently faced by the country.
To make timely contribution to the international cooperation in combating the pandemic, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs donates 50 Oxygen Concentrators and 2,000 N95 Masks as first batch of emergency support which has been shipped to Bhutan via Singapore on March 27 by Druk Air.
This timly regional cooperation between Taiwan and Bhutan demostrates the imperative importance of joint efforts to combat trans-boundary pandemics. Taiwan is capable and willing and contribute to the international society and will collaborate to assist Bhutan to fight against medical challenges.
