Sharing the Joy of Taiwan’s Agricultural Technology in India by TECC and Taiwanese Compatriots in Mumbai

TECC in Mumbai engaged with board members of the Taiwan Chamber of Commerce in Maharashtra West, India (TCCMW) on May 4. During the meeting, participants shared the achievements of the Taiwanese agribusiness Known-You Seed (India), including the successful development of the “Madhumati” Taiwan Melons, which highlights the strong complementarity between India’s agricultural sector and Taiwan’s agricultural technology, demonstrating a mutually beneficial partnership.

For more than 20 years, Known-You has been deeply engaged in India. By providing high-quality vegetable and fruit seeds and offering technical guidance on cultivation, the agribusiness has made significant contributions in improving farmers’ livelihoods and ensuring food security, while also presenting consumers a wider variety of choices.

The melon is not only a delicacy that has taken root in both Indian and Taiwanese societies, but also embodies the cultural notion of sattva—symbol of purity and luminosity— and reflects the commonalities of the two countries in both daily life and spiritual belief.
