Students of Dr. M. G. R. Educational and Research Institute wrote to Mr. Charles Li, Director-General of TECC in Chennai, to share their experience and observation during a recent visit to Taiwan.
The letter is attached below:
Dear Sir,
We the students of Dr.MGR Educational and Research Institute have visited Taipei on the month of December for a span of 15 days. We had six students in the crew guided by one faculty Dr.G. Kalpana, Professor of Computer Science. We had been to the Taipei Medical University for a Training Program on Artificial Intelligence and big data in Health Care. The accommodation and food was taken care by the university itself and apart from us there were 30 other Indian Students and Research Scholars from institutes like IITs , MIT and College of Engineering, Guindy, attended the training along with us. One good thing about Taiwan was their Commitment towards the work and their Friendly Nature. They never let us feel that we were out of our Motherland. Vegetarians found it a little hard to manage the food habits but for non-vegetarians it was completely comfortable. So, towards the exposure part we could explore a variety of significant places and monuments in Taiwan such as,
Taipei 101 (It provided an awe experience to watch clouds move beneath our feet)
National Palace Museum (A wide monument with marvelous articles and memories preserved. The parade in the evening was exceptional and mind blowing)
Taipei Zoo (It was a zoological Garden preserved as a ideal habitat for many rare species of animals and birds. It also serves as a Research hub for several research scholars)
And finally the night markets which were a perfect destination to shop and to taste authentic Taiwanese food.
Thus, our trip to Taiwan was exceedingly entertaining and memorable.
