Dr. S. Sivaperumal, Director of International Relations, Vel Tech Rangarajan Dr. Sagunthala R & D Institute of Science and Technology and 4 Master’s students who are the recipients of 2019 Taiwan Scholarship by Ministry of Education (ROC) called upon Director-General Mr. Charles Li of TECC, on the morning of August 1, 2019.
Director-General Mr. Charles Li encouraged the students to acquire an in-depth understanding of Taiwan's customs and industrial developments during their study in Taiwan, and seek opportunities to intern and observe the industries and get life experiences.
The institute is a Deemed University, has academically ranked 3rd in Chennai; 7th in Tamil Nadu and 25th in all India. It also secured the first among the 5 universities from India within the category of 101-200 in this year’s “Times Higher Education Impact Rankings under the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 9): Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure”. It has signed 21 MOUs with various Taiwanese universities and will sign 4 more in the near future. The University as well engaged with numerous student, faculty exchange and internship programs with Taiwanese counterparts.
It has a Mandarin Chinese Teacher from Taiwan who also facilitates the exchange of cultural and higher education between the two countries in addition to offering Mandarin Chinese language courses.
