TECC receives Congratulatory Messages from Southern Indian States in Celebration of the 110th Republic of China (Taiwan) National Day.
In celebration of the 110th Republic of China (Taiwan) National Day and considering the inconvenient situation of the Covid-19 pandemic in India, Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in Chennai (TECC) is presenting a video film with the theme “We Can Prosper Together.” It features video messages from Industrial Ministers of four southern Indian states, namely Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Telangana, which have been enthusiastically attracting investments from Taiwan, along with the President of the Southern India Chamber of Commerce and Industry to congratulate on the 110th Republic of China (Taiwan) National Day and express welcome of Taiwan’s New Southbound Policy.
While the pandemic is getting under control across India, states governments has begun focusing on economic recovery with hopes of attracting foreign investments and creating job opportunities. Against this backdrop, Mr. Ben Wang, head of TECC, has led a delegation touring the southern Indian states on state governments’ invitations in less than one-year time with the aim to search for opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation. During the visits, the TECC team met with Chief Ministers, attended economic and trade roundtable conferences and was given guided tours to industrial parks. The vigorous activities of TECC have garnered much attention from the Indian Press to produce more than one hundred news coverage depicting a promising future for collaboration embraced by India and Taiwan.
Taiwan has made a reputation for itself because of its achievement in not only effectively combatting the pandemic but also successive economic growth. At the time when global supply chain disruption was happening, Taiwan as the world leader in semiconductor manufacturing was approached by leaders from industry and government worldwide seeking help to alleviate the shortage in semiconductor supply. In addition, despite of the threat of pandemic, Taiwan’s performance in electronics products export has been constantly setting new records. Therefore, when the global supply chain restructure was happening, the world turned its attention to Taiwan, so did the southern Indian states. Seeing Taiwan as a valuable partner and to welcome Taiwan investors with open arms, the ministers on behalf of their respective states gladly join this video film to convey congratulatory messages in celebration of the Republic of China (Taiwan) National Day.
Southern India has a population of 260 million. General speaking, it has a pleasant climate, good public order and better air quality. The first Taiwan Industrial park is located in Bengaluru and will break ground soon. Moreover, notable electronics manufacturers from Taiwan including Delta, Foxconn, Wistron, and Pegatron, and automotive manufacturers from Japan and Korea have set up operations in this region that constitute a perfect ecosystem in electronics and automotive manufacturing. As the supply chain is under restructure and the EV era is approaching, South India, considering its potential in domestic and export markets, should be an ideal location for Taiwan investors to explore business opportunities.
