Director-General Stephen Hsu of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center (TECC) in Chennai, accompanied by his colleague, hosted a luncheon gathering with representatives and executives of several Taiwanese companies at TAIWAN MAAMI, a well-known Taiwanese restaurant in Chennai, at noon on June 6. During the luncheon, DG Hsu expressed his concern for the current operations and working conditions of Taiwanese businesses in South India. He noted that TECC has always upheld the spirit of serving Taiwanese enterprises and stands ready to understand their needs, address their concerns, and provide necessary assistance or coordination. He also emphasized that TECC will continue to maintain close interaction with Taiwanese businesses and serve as their firm support in Chennai and South India.
The luncheon was held at TAIWAN MAAMI, operated by Chennai-based Taiwanese entrepreneur Theresa Hu. Theresa personally prepared a variety of delicious Taiwanese specialties for the occasion, bringing the familiar flavors of home to the participants and easing their nostalgia for Taiwanese food. In a warm and pleasant atmosphere, the guests exchanged views in a relaxed manner and enjoyed a delightful afternoon filled with the taste and warmth of Taiwan.
Theresa also shared that TAIWAN MAAMI is her second restaurant in Chennai. Her first outlet, the TAIWAN MAAMI bubble tea shop at Phoenix Mall, has been well received by both Taiwanese friends and local Indian customers. She further announced that a third TAIWAN MAAMI restaurant will open soon, and DG Hsu will be invited to attend the opening ribbon-cutting ceremony. She warmly welcomed Taiwanese friends in Chennai and local friends who enjoy Taiwanese cuisine to visit and savor authentic Taiwanese flavors.
