Christophe Harbour development impressive - Taiwan Investors

Basseterre, St. Kitts, 12th August, 2017 (MyVueNews.com) - A Taiwan investor delegation, visiting the Eastern Caribbean, said they were impressed with the Christophe Harbour project, as they discussed investment possibilities there.

The delegation was led by George Li of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Republic of China.

On Friday, 11th August, the investor delegates visited and toured Christophe Harbour, one of the largest tourism oriented projects that exists in the Caribbean covering nearly 3000 acres at the end of the Southeast Peninsula of St. Kitts.

This followed meetings with Government officials the day before.

Li said, “We are impressed about the vision of the project. They said a 20-year development project. My impression is that it is going to be very successful. I can see it attracting more investors. This is our first visit to St. Kitts and Nevis, and we are exploring the investment possibilities.”

The delegation was accompanied by resident Ambassador George Gow Wei Chiou. Speaking at the end of the visit to Christophe Harbour, he said, “I extend our thanks to the Ministry of Tourism and to Christophe Harbour for their hospitality. Our investor delegation had a very successful visit to Christophe Harbour and to St. Kitts and Nevis

Christophe Harbour’s Vice President of Operations Jon Gersonde said the visit of the investor group from Taiwan was good for expanding business opportunities.

Gersonde commented, “It was a delightful visit and wonderful exposure for us and the federation, in general. I believe they were very impressed with what they saw. And along with the visit of the Minister of Tourism and his Permanent Secretary, we are delighted. We would love to do more event like this, as it is good exposure that could help the development of Christophe Harbour.”

One of the delegates, Kuo, Shan-Tsan (Kaku Kuo), the General Manager of APLUS Integrated Circuits, Inc., which offers voice services in various products and for commercial solutions, said he was interested in finding a distributor for the company’s range of products that would be helpful in the tourism environment. He did suggest that at some later point, a production facility could be established here in the federation.

During a luncheon held for the investor delegation, a presentation was made by Chief Executive Officer Les Khan of the Citizenship by Investment Unit.

Khan pointed out the various attributes of the Citizenship By Investment program and how investors benefit from what is now referred to as the Platinum Brand of CBI programs.

According to Khan, St. Kitts and Nevis provides a high quality product, giving it high global appeal. He took the opportunity to answer questions offered by the investor delegates from Taiwan.

During the luncheon, there was an exchange of gifts from the Taiwan investor delegation to Government Officials and Christophe Harbour Personnel, as well as from the Ministry of Tourism to the investor delegates in a presentation made by Tourism Permanent Secretary Carlene Henry-Morton.

Minister Lindsay Grant wished the investors continued success in building bridges of business opportunities between Taiwan and St. Kitts and Nevis.
