So long my friend, until we meet again.
Goodbye to Technician Henry Yu, who has headed home on June 13 after finishing his duty in the "Enhancing Agricultural Adaptive Capacity to Climate Variability Project" implemented by Taiwan Technical Mission in St. Kitts & Nevis. Ambassador Lee and Embassy staffers had the chance to bid him farewell after a routine meeting earlier this month.
During his 3 years’ service here, Henry has been essential in our efforts to strengthen agriculture's resilience in the country, by means of establishing an early warning data mechanism, developing & introducing crop disaster mitigation & prevention techniques, and improving the availability of agricultural information.
To date, the Project has set up 4 agricultural weather stations for data collection https://www.agromet.kn/ , established 1 model farm and 4 model fields, undertaken 8 crop cultivation trials / disease & pest monitoring and issued 3 annual reports, delivered numerous on-site capacity building sessions, made 48 broadcasts on crop disaster mitigation and prevention, conducted 16 agricultural information workshops, and established a comprehensive information platform for agricultural information dissemination http://bit.ly/TWAgri .
We thank Henry once again for his passion and contribution, and wish him all the very best in his next chapter of life.
