Ambassador Edward Ling-wen Tao, Secretary Kate Wei and the leader of Taiwan Technical Mission, Mr. Roy Lo were honored to attend the official launch ceremony of the Regional Economic Agri-Insurance Programme (REAP), hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Marine Resources of St. Kitts and Nevis.
In his remarks, Prime Minister the Honourable Dr. Terrance Drew underscored the critical role of agriculture and fisheries in national security and sustainable development. He noted that the REAP initiative will help mitigate risks posed by natural disasters and ensure that farmers and fishers receive timely and adequate support in the face of climate-related challenges.
Taiwan remains committed to playing a constructive role in the Federation’s agricultural development through various bilateral cooperation programs. Notably, under the ongoing TaiwanICDF Layer Chicken Industry Sustainable Development Project, Taiwan continues to support efforts to enhance agricultural productivity and resilience, working together to build a food-secure and sustainable future.
