In recognition of the Lithuanian children who participated in the "48th World School Children's Art Exhibition", an award-giving ceremony was sponsored by Taipei Mission and took place at the Vilnius Academy of Arts in Lithuania. More than 200 teachers, parents and students attended, while certificates and prizes were presented by Chairperson of the Taiwan-Lithuanian Inter-parliamentary Group Hon. Gintaras Steponavicius as well as Representative Wu of the Taipei Mission.
Representative Wu praised Lithuanian children, who have been very active in the World School Children's Art Exhibition, sponsored by the Taiwanese Association for Education Through Art for the last five decades. With 1 gold, 2 silver awards and 55 selected diplomas attributed to Lithuanian children on the 48th edition of the Exhibition, which is the most fruitful one in recent years. Hon. Gintaras Steponavicius expressed gratitude to the Taipei Mission for its ceaseless efforts on promoting bilateral cultural exchanges and deepening mutual understanding between Taiwan and Lithuania. He encouraged Lithuanian children to keep being creative and imaginative so as to pursue good life and to contribute actively to the society.
Participants interacted fervently during the reception and exchanged ideas on international cultural exchanges, proving that the World School Children's Art Exhibition organized by the Taiwanese Association for Education Through Art has been a tremendously successful public diplomacy activity. It is also another tangible testimony that Taiwan Non-governmental organizations demonstrate Taiwan’s soft power in international arena.
