RMI Diplomatic Corps visited RMI weight lifting athletes

Ambassador Winston Wen-yi Chen of the Republic of China (Taiwan) along with Charge d’Affaires Tetsuya Iwata of Japan joined a visit organized by Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, Ambassador Thomas Armbruster of the United States of America on the afternoon of 28 June to Laura High School gym to visit the team of RMI weght-lifting athletes under training and preparation for the upcoming Micronesia Games in Pohnpei, the Federated States of Micronesia in mid July 2014. Mr. Terry Sasser, Mrs. Amie Sasser and Hon. Senator Tony Muller of the RMI National Olympic Committee (NOC) were also on site to welcome the visitors from the Diplomatic Corps. Staff from the said 3 Embassies also joined the visit.
During their visit, the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, US Ambassador Armbruster made a contribution to the NOC as a token of support and encouragement for those young Marshallese athletes with great potential. The members of the Diplomatic Corps wished the RMI team all the best for their upcoming competition and great success.
After the visit, the Diplomatic Corps invited the NOC members and the weight lifting athletes to the nearby Taiwan International Cooperation and Development Fund (ICDF) Technical Mission in Laura (Laura Farm) for a BBQ dinner, prepared by the ROC (Taiwan) Embassy and their Laura Farm colleagues.
