At the invitation of U Htay Myint, Chairman of Myanmar’s Yuzana Group, Ambassador Charles C. Li, Representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Myanmar, visited the Grand Hantha International Hospital on June 30, 2022, to learn about the Group’s business and possible cooperation opportunities in aquaculture, agriculture and healthcare.
Chairman Htay Myint has built Yuzana Company Limited into an influential conglomerate, with a diverse portfolio of business interests across an array of industries including agriculture and fisheries, real estate, tourism, and healthcare. He has more than 30 years of experience in the fishery industry and currently serves as the President of the prestigious Myanmar Fisheries Federation (MFF). He shared some details of Myanmar’s first one-stop fish farm project (from fry cultivation to final consumer goods) in Ayeyarwady Province, adopting the most advanced breeding technology and water circulation system and green energy for power supply to reduce carbon footprint. At present, the site construction of the overall plan has reached the final integration stage. He welcomed Taiwanese businesses in the fields related to aquatic product processing, packaging and cold chain to join the ranks of investors of the project.
Ambassador Li thanked Chairman Htay for sharing his vision of the project and investment opportunities. "Myanmar, as one of the New Southbound Policy targeted countries, is a key investment destination and trade market for Taiwan; and that one of his office’s main functions is to facilitate the connection and cooperation between Taiwanese businesses and Myanmar businesses," said the Ambassador.
"Taiwan has advanced aquaculture and agricultural technologies and a high-performance healthcare system; furthermore, Taiwan is willing to share its success experience with friendly countries and interested in creating mutually-beneficial partnership," he added.
He invited Yuzana Group to join his office’s programs and activities of “engaging Taiwan.”
