On August 24, 2022, Taiwan’s Shin Kong Wu Ho-Su Memorial Hospital conducted an online seminar titled "New Knowledge on Health and Disease Prevention for Taiwanese Businessmen in Myanmar. It was organized by Dr. Hsu Jung-Hui (Dr. Tin Myo Zaw), Director of Shin Kong Medical Assistance Program to Myanmar Liaison Office, and hosted by Dr. Huang Chien-hsien, Director of the Infection Control and Infectious Diseases department of the hospital, presented a research report and answered questions from the participants. A total of 25 people attended the program.
Ambassador Charles C. Li of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Myanmar remarked that he was happy to see so many Taiwanese businessmen in Myanmar, local physicians and TECO colleagues participating online. He thanked Shin Kong Hospital for continuing to host such informative events and said that TECO will continue to provide updated information to the Taiwanese community in Myanmar and share relevant knowledge with local friends.
The topic of Dr. Huang's briefing included the drug treatment and vaccine of COVID-19 and the new Omicron variant BA.5. He concluded: Covid-19 will become flu-like in the future, not likely to disappear; people will all have to learn to coexist with the virus. He emphasized that the best protection is to get fully vaccinated.
