TECO is in partnership with renowned think tanks from Taiwan and Malaysia to hold two webinars on economic and regional cooperation issues

Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia (TECO), in collaboration with Malaysia’s Institute of Strategic and International Studies (ISIS Malaysia) and Taiwan’s CTPECC, will hold two webinars on April 28 and May 5 respectively. The topic of the first webinar is “The Impact of the Pandemic and the Stimulus Packages Introduced in Malaysia and Taiwan”.

Chief Executive of ISIS Malaysia, Mr. Harizal Hazri will make the welcoming remarks to kick off the webinar, followed by opening remarks delivered by our TECO Representative Anne Hung and Dr. Charles Chou, Acting Secretary General of CTPECC. The discussion will be moderated and co-moderated by Dr. Juita Mohamad and Mr. Calvin Cheng of ISIS Malaysia. Invited speakers include Dr. Darson Chiu, Research Fellow of Department of International Affairs, Taiwan Institute of Economic Research, Dr. Carol Yeh-Yun Lin, Distinguished Professor of Department of Business Administration, National Chenchi University, and Emeritus Prof. Datuk Dr. Norma Mansor, Director of Social Wellbeing Research Center (SWRC), University of Malaysia (UM). Together, the moderators and speakers will talk about the Covid-19 impacts on Taiwan’s and Malaysia’s economies, and also examine the effectiveness of the introduced stimulus packages, especially on Taiwan’s successful experience in reaching 3.11% economic growth last year. In addition, the second webinar will be focusing on “Exploring Avenues of Growth for Malaysia and Taiwan Post Pandemic: Strengthening Regional Cooperation”.
