Schipluiden commemorates Reverend Antonius Hambrouck, a Dutch missionary to Formosa in the 17th century

A history that connected Taiwan and the Netherlands. In memory of Reverend Antonius Hambrouck who dedicated his life to peace and people of both countries in the 17th century. Ambassador Tom Chou was invited to give a speech at the ceremony with Mayor of Schipluiden Arnoud Rodenburg, the city Reverend Hambrouck served before travelling to Taiwan (Formosa) in 1647.
