The standard processing time for an electronic passport (e-passport) issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) is 20~25 working days. If you urgently need to return to Taiwan due to special circumstances, you can choose one of the following three temporary solutions based on your personal situation.

| 3. Enter Taiwan with a New Zealand passport (eligible for a 90-day visa waiver) | Travelers entering Taiwan with a foreign passport must comply with visa-free regulations. Using a foreign passport classifies you as a foreign national; therefore, you cannot renew your ROC (Taiwan) passport or restore your household registration while in Taiwan. Additionally, you must complete the Online Arrival Card before arrival. Dual-nationality citizens of draft age entering with a foreign passport remain subject to Taiwan’s military service regulations. |
