Authentication of your Passport
- Application form / Application form ODT.
  - This document is for our office's record-keeping.
- The applicant must complete and sign the Application Form.
- If authorizing someone else to handle the application, the applicant’s information and signature should be filled out in the upper section of the form, while the agent’s information should be completed in the red-bordered section. The applicant must submit a handwritten power of attorney, as well as the original and a copy of the agent’s identification. The original will be returned after verification, and the copy will be kept on file.
Identity verification (Original and Copy Required) :
- Please provide one of the following identification documents.
- Foreign Passport:
  - A copy must be notarized by a Notary Public within our jurisdiction in New Zealand, and then authenticated by our office.
  - Do not use a Justice of the Peace.
  - Please also provide the Notary Public’s email address for our review.
- Alin Resident Certificate (ARC):
  - Valid ARC only. No notarization required. Verification by TECO is required.
- Republic of China (Taiwan) Passport:
  - No notarization required. Verification by TECO is required.
Fee: NZD 26 per document, payable at our office.

Step 2 . After your passport or ID has been authenticated by our office, please send all materials back to Taiwan.

This office cannot assist with mailing.

A. There is no agent in Taiwan. Please contact the Taipei Police Department directly.

After your passport or ID has been authenticated by our office, please return the verified passport or ARC to the Taipei City Police Department along with the following documents

A completed and signed Application Form for Police Criminal Record Certificate.(PCRC)
- No authentication is required at our office.
Authenticated passport or ID.
Application Fee-Please select a delivery method and arrange payment.
- Payment accepted in USD cash(notes only ; no coins).
- US$7 for one copy of the PCRC, plus standard mail return to New Zealand.
- USD 20, including one PCRC and EMS postage. Standard mail is prone to loss; EMS (registered) service is recommended.
- Each additional copy applied for at the same time is US$1 (the contents of each PCRC should be the same).
Please type and print your full name, local New Zealand address, and contact number for mailing purposes.

B. If you have relatives or friends in Taiwan to assist, please send all documents to the authorized representative.

After your passport or ID has been authenticated by our office, please post the documents back to Taiwan for your relatives or friends.

If you authorize someone to apply on your behalf in Taiwan, you must sign the authorization column on the PCRC.
- This document is to be submitted to the Taiwan police department.
- Please refer to the image below. You must complete the Application Form for Police Criminal Record Certificate/ ODT, provide the authorized person's information in the authorization section, and sign the form in person.
- The PCRC does not require authentication by this office.
Please post the PCRC and authenticated ID back to Taiwan for your relatives or friends.

FEES

NZ$26.00 per document ,for passport or ARC authentication.
Copies are NZD $13 each (applicants must provide copies).
An additional 50% of application fee will be charged for express service.
Payment is accepted only via Eftpos, cash,or Internet banking (details will be provided after receiving the required documents)
For mail-in applications, we will email transfer information and document codes after receiving the application. Please be sure to include the document code when making the transfer.
International transfers may take several working days to be received. The document authentication fee must be paid in full, with the actual amount received after deduction of bank charges from both countries.

DURATION

Once the document has been confirmed as having been signed by the notary public, it will be issued approximately 5 working days later (excluding holidays and mailing time / no additional notification will be provided for collection).
Please bring the receipt when collecting the documents. If someone else is collecting the documents on your behalf, they must present both the receipt and their identification.
If you need the documents to be couriered back to Taiwan, you must arrange an online appointment with DHL or FedEx yourself and provide the waybill to the processing staff. The documents will be picked up from our office (TECO in Auckland) and sent to Taiwan.
- For the sender, please fill in this office's address and your name.
- For the recipient, please fill in the address you wish to send to.
For mail returns within New Zealand, please prepare a postage-paid envelope and use a tracked mail service.
If the documents are not collected within three months of verification, they will be destroyed in accordance with the regulations of the Bureau of Consular Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. No further notification will be given, and the fees paid are non-refundable.
Once the documents have been verified and bound, if they are opened or altered by the applicant, the reviewing unit may refuse to process them.
