“Spend A Night at Taiwan’s Presidential Office Building” held by The General Association of Chinese Culture (GACC) 2023 invites travelers around the world to visit Taiwan. The second promotion video was released early today. The secretary general to the president, Chia-Lung Lin invited the master chef Jason Wang to be the first guest. Jason Wang was also in charge of the special Taiwanese welcome snacks for the event. With the unique Taiwanese cuisine, he would tried to attract more than 6 million tourists as the annual goal of the event.
In the promotion video, the chief and the host of TaiwanPlus Jason’s Table, Jason Wang was the first guest to experience the stay at Presidential Office Building. After the room tour of living room, corridor and bedroom (used to be standby room), he came up with 3 style desserts made from Taiwan’s special ingredients and enjoyed the afternoon tea with Sectary Lin. Chia-Lung Lin said “Taiwanese government is always open for the people and the world.” The registration period is due to June 30th.
“You never expect a stay overnight at the country’s highest level of administration building!” Jason was happy to see Taiwan’s liberty and hospitality. He expected the atmosphere in the building to be quiet serious, but it was actually dynamic and vivid with colorful paintings and weaving works. “I think this represent Taiwan well,” he said.
The general secretary Hou-Ching Lee from GACC gave special thanks to the housekeeping services and toiletries provided by Caesar Park Hotels. The delicate service was complimented by Jason, “Very caring with Taiwanese style.” Hou-Ching Lee revealed that the furniture and decoration in standby room were made by Taiwanese artisan with strong originality and creativity.
“What taste will remind you of Taiwan when you taste it once again?” Jason thought local ingredients to be one of the keys to Michelin cuisine. He presented 3 courses of dessert for the event: passion fruit sandwich biscuit, white paper flavored toffee black chocolate, and pineapple cake. The set of 3 courses also presented Taiwanese lifestyle as Taiwanese people always took 3 side dishes in every meal. The concept of his design was all about the richness of Taiwan.
Because Taiwan was famous for flowers and fruits, Jason designed the flora outlook for passion fruit sandwich biscuit with spread of red quinoa, which was the ingredient from aborigines. White paper was the classic flavor in Taiwanese meals, so he added such the flavor to toffee black chocolate with spread of sesame and longanand melon seeds. The smoked longan and spicy white paper flavor were popular with people who didn’t like sweets. This also showed the diversity of Taiwanese culture. Moreover, Jason added lemon to the classic Taiwanese souvenir pineapple cake. He also made the crust from Taiwanese people’s favorite seasoning for fruits, plum powder.
Hou-Ching Lee announced the second promotion video for “Spend A Night at Taiwan’s Presidential Office Building” would be released on GACC’s Facebook fan page and YouTube channel、TaiwanPlus YouTube on June 2nd while the part 2 of video scheduled on June 5th. Everyone is welcome to share the video to overseas friends.
