The 20,000 surgical masks and 2 infrared image thermometers donated by Taiwan finally arrived in Palau! The donation ceremony was presided by Ambassador Wallace Chow and Health Minister Emais Roberts in Belau National Hospital in the afternoon of May 7.
Since the outbreak of COVID-19, Taiwan has assisted its brotherly country-Palau in testing patients under investigation (PUI), providing and installing essential testing medical equipment and giving necessary training for the medical staff.
Virus knows no borders. This is just one action to strengthen pandemic prevention cooperation between brotherly countries, Taiwan and Palau, as well as the implementation of the spirit “Taiwan Can Help”.
In addition, Taiwan government is launching a third wave of international humanitarian assistance in response to the continued spread of the coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak, donating 7.07 million face masks to the United States, European Union and its member states, diplomatic allies, New Southbound Policy partner countries, and African and Middle Eastern nations.
