Alingano Maisu Sets Sail — A Voyage for the Next Generation
分享到
On April 20, 2025, at 4:30 PM, the traditional voyaging canoe Alingano Maisu set sail from Palau toward Lanyu and Taitung in Taiwan. She is expected to arrive between May 8 and 10.
This is more than just a journey across oceans—it is a voyage through time, memory, and spirit. In every gust of wind is the breath of our ancestors. In every wave, the wisdom of Papa Mau Piailug, reminding us to see with our hearts and to navigate not just the sea, but life itself.
Alingano Maisu, once a gift from Hawai‘i to Satawal, now sails from Palau to Taiwan, carrying the sacred knowledge Mau once passed on—so our children may remember who they are, and chart a course forward with pride and purpose.
Every child aboard is a seed of the future.Every star we follow is a story retold.Every sail we raise is a promise remembered and kept.
Today, chiefs from Palau, the Amis, and Tao communities offered their heartfelt blessings. Taiwan’s Ambassador to Palau, Jessica Lee, joined them to offer her highest regards and support.
From canoe to classroom, from island to island—this journey is for our children. The ocean teaches best when you're in it.And today, their learning begins.
Follow the journey.Share the stories.Uphold the legacy. This is for you. This is for our future. The voyage has begun—and the next generation is already leading the way.
