Eligibility & Requirements
1.Who is qualified to apply for the recruitment of skilled workers program?
Applicants interested in working in Taiwan’s hospitality industry may apply if they meet the required qualifications set by Taiwan, including educational background, language ability, and technical qualifications.
Applicants with backgrounds in Hospitality, Tourism, Sports, or Leisure-related fields, as well as those with relevant hospitality internship or work experience, are encouraged to apply.
2.Can fresh graduates or applicants without work experience apply?
Yes. Fresh graduates may apply if they meet the required qualifications.
Applicants with a related Bachelor’s degree may qualify based on their educational background. Applicants without prior work experience may also qualify through other approved qualification pathways, provided that they meet Taiwan’s requirements for technical qualifications, language ability, and education.
3.Do I need a Hospitality or Tourism-related degree to qualify? Are applicants from other fields eligible?
A Hospitality or Tourism-related degree is NOT the only pathway for qualification.
Applicants from other fields may still qualify if they meet other technical qualification requirements, such as relevant hospitality training, skills assessment, or recognized internship experience approved by Taiwan.
4.Will work experience from other industries (e.g., BPO, retail, healthcare, manufacturing, customer service, etc.) be considered?
The program specifically recognizes qualifications related to the hospitality industry.
Work experience from other industries is not listed as a direct qualification under the program. However, applicants may still apply if they satisfy the required educational, language, and technical qualifications.
5.Are TESDA NCII certificates or other certifications required to apply?
TESDA NCII certification is not listed as a mandatory requirement.
Applicants may qualify through other technical qualification pathways, including a Taiwan–issued Level C “Hotel Room Service” certification or higher, approved hospitality training, recognized internship experience, relevant work experience, or passing a Taiwan-designated skills test.
6.Is there an age limit or specific physical/medical requirement for applicants?
Age limit or medical requirements are not specified.

Language Proficiency
1.Is Mandarin proficiency required?
Applicants must meet the language requirement through one of the following:
A Mandarin or English proficiency test at Level A2 or higher (Speaking or Listening); or
Exemption if the applicant:
Holds a Bachelor’s degree and a passport from a country where English is an official language (such as the Philippines); or
Completed a 6-month hospitality internship in Taiwan within the past 3 years.
Applicants without Mandarin language proficiency certification are required to pass a Mandarin speaking or listening comprehension proficiency test at Basic Level (A2) or above within 3 years from the date of employment starting.
2.Will language or job-related training be provided ?
Applicants are advised to contact TESDA to take a basic Mandarin training course (A1)
Applicants without backgrounds in Hospitality, Tourism, Sports, or Leisure-related fields are encouraged to take a special short-term hospitality-related training course provided by TESDA and TESDA-accredited training institutions when confirmed) or take a basic skills test to qualify .
Applicants who are employed may receive Mandarin language or on-the-job training when working in Taiwan depending upon their employers. Ministry of Labor also provides financial support and guidance to encourage employers to provide on-the-job training at the workplace.
Working Conditions
1.What job positions are available under the program?
The program is for employment opportunities in Taiwan’s hospitality industry.
Job duties may include:
Hotel housekeeping;
Cleaning services;
Assisting guests with reservations; and
Providing guest-related services within hotels
2.What salary and employment package can applicants expect?
The starting salary indicated in the program is:
Minimum NT$32,000 per month (overtime payment is not included yet)
(Approximately PHP 60,400 based on the exchange rate indicated. Actual conversion may vary depending on exchange rates.)
Details regarding additional benefits and employment conditions will depend on the hiring company and employment contract.
3.Will applicants be covered by social insurance programs in Taiwan?Applicants who are once employed will be covered by the National Health Insurance and the Labor-related Insurance programs.
4.Will accommodation, transportation, or relocation assistance be provided?
Accommodation, transportation, and relocation assistance will depend on the employment arrangements provided by the hiring company.
Costs & Fees
1.Are there any placement fees, application fees, or other expenses required?
The program does not indicate any application or placement fees because of the Government-to-Government Direct Hiring Program.
Applicants are advised to rely only on official announcements from the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) and avoid unauthorized individuals or organizations requesting payment.
