Representative Hsieh wished Singaporean friends a happy festive season when attending the Mid-Autumn Lantern Festival organized by SunnyHills (Taiwan).

SunnyHills (Taiwan) and 16 primary schools in Singapore jointly organized a Mid-Autumn Lantern Festival at Raffles Hotel on 6 September 2013. Representative Hsieh was invited to the lantern light-up ceremony and to deliver a speech as a guest of honour for this non-commercial celebratory event. In his address, Mr Hsieh praised the primary school students for their creative artworks in making lanterns. He also took the opportunity to share with the audience on the Taiwanese customary practices during Mid-Autumn Festival, the unique characteristics of Taiwanese pastries, diversities in Taiwanese food products and the significant emphasis which the ROC government has placed on the food safety and sanitation.
Hundreds of colourful and creative lanterns made by the Singapore primary school students were on display at the event. They come in various creative designs and truly exhibited the students’ innovative and artistic talents. An estimated total of 150 guests turned up for the lantern light-up ceremony and the ambience was fun and lively. Besides admiring the beautifully constructed lanterns, the guests also helped themselves to the tasty pineapple pastries and fruit juice as they gathered to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival.
