On behalf of Representative Francis Kuo-Hsin Liang, Deputy Representative Steven Tai attended the Singapore Kim Mui Hoey Kuan’s celebration on 18 March 2018 to commemorate its 148th anniversary cum the birthday of the Chen Yuan En Zhu Gong of the Tang Dynasty. Over 400 persons, including clan delegates from the Johor Kim Tong Har Association and the various Chinese clan associations in Singapore, and other officials from the Taipei Representative Office in Singapore gathered at the celebration.
At the event, Deputy Representative Tai conveyed his congratulations to the association’s President Mr. Chua Kee Seng, Vice President Mr. Tan Tock Han and the rest of the management council. He also joined the office bearers of the association onstage to offer a toast to all the members and guests present.
In his address, Mr. Chua Kee Seng, President of the Singapore Kim Mui Hoey Kuan, was happy to note that the association’s outreach effort to connect with fellow associations in Taipei, Kaohsiung and Kinmen in the previous year was successful. He said that, going forward, the association will continue to reach out to fellow Kinmen clan associations overseas.
