Youth Travel in Taiwan Intermediate Plan
I. Target ： Mainly domestic youth aged from 15 to 30, inviting the participation of international youth.
II. Goals:
• Shape youth trekking culture in Taiwanese youth, encouraging youth to experience Taiwan and getting to know the motherland.
• Make Taiwan become the destination in tour destination in Asia for international youth and students.
III. Operational strategies and plans:
• Fashion tourist-friendly environment for youth travelers in Taiwan
i. Build up high-quality youth trekking spots: Collaborate with local Trekking Taiwan-Creative Tour organizer NPOs, providing year-long regular and in-depth local service in non-profit way, for example tour guiding, homestay arrangement, in-depth experience etc, enabling youth map out distinctive trekking Taiwan activities.
ii. Enhance breath and depth of consultation service system: continue enriching the content in Youth Travel in Taiwan website, and making the website a Taiwan information center. Broaden youth travel in Taiwan consultation service windows, set up youth travel in Taiwan information hub and reinforcing the identification service.
iii. Broaden tourist-friendly policies: broaden the availability of eco-friendly transportation system, encourage youth take public transportation and travel with bicycles or on foot. Broaden inexpensive accommodation system, issuing Youth Travel Card, increasing discounters.
• Organize Youth Travel in Taiwan Maps
i. Continue organizing “Trekking Taiwan-Creative Tour” : Continue collaborating with NPOs and universities in Trekking Taiwan-Creative Tour(Art & History, Local Lifestyle, Ecotourism & Adventure, Aboriginal Village, Cultural Festival), featured with tour guiding, physical challenge, tourism, public discussion panel, State-own infrastructure visit, DIY experience etc, discovering brandnew spots, advocating and implementing “Responsible Tour” spirit. By cooperating with Ministry of Defense, we hold interesting, military-related activities in offshore islands to provide military facility-related activities in offshore islands so as to enrich the abundance and multi-themes of the activities. Learn from foreign experience to establish counseling and training mechanism to ensure the safety and quality of the activity, anticipating authentication system, promoting model sustainability and strategic alliance with related industries.
ii. Innovate and design flagship activity: Openly ask for 10 “Youth Travel in Taiwan” plan annually, encouraging international and domestic youth to form up a team or individual to draw up unique, creative, theme-based or issue-based, socially interactive, or self-challenging travel plan, reasonably sponsoring youth to fulfill their dream, asking youth to record their journey (text, photograph or multimedia etc.), these bikers to give speech in high schools and colleges in the hope that bike touring can one day become a trend in Taiwan.
iii. Promote bicycle activity: By cooperating with Sports Affairs Council, which conducts “bicycle day” annually, we encourage young people to experience Taiwan by riding bikes.
IV. Enhance Promotion on Youth Travel in Taiwan
• Shape the new image of Taiwan in the eyes of youth: Invite youthful director or collaborate with professional department students in universities to shoot promotional videos on Taiwan . Enhance internet marketing campaign, operating Youth Travel in Taiwan website and improving online service.
• Integrate government organizations and embassies worldwide: Collaborate with Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Overseas Compatriot Affairs Commission, Government Information Office, Council for Cultural Affairs, Ministry of Education, and Tourism Bureau to promote youth travel in Taiwan domestically and internationally. Participate in domestic and international travel fairs, education exhibitions and large youth activities, advertising youth travel in Taiwan multiple products. Continue cooperating with local and foreign youth travel-related organizations and youth groups to promote both nationwide and worldwide.
• Recruit and train youth travel volunteers and promote youth travel in Taiwan: continue recruiting and training youth travel volunteers (international promotion ambassadors, campus promotion ambassadors, translation volunteers, local correspondent, etc.), collaboratively advertising promotion through creativity and friendship of youth. Cooperate with international organizations to promote volunteering travel in Taiwan .
V. Expected Effects and Influence:
• Establish tourist friendly environment for youth tourists, encouraging youth to experience Taiwan in various approaches, brining youth travel into vogue.
• Discover high-quality youth travel in Taiwan travel plan, shaping new culture of youth travel in Taiwan and developing youth travel sector.
