2. Qualification?
Kaohsiung Medical University International Students Grant
1. Those who do not hold ROC citizenship are regarded as international
students. However, the regulations do not apply to overseas Chinese
student, and exchange students.
2. International students applying for this grant must first apply for Taiwan
Scholarship offered by Taiwanese government in their countries of origin (unless no such scholarships are available). Only when confirmed that the application was not approved or no such scholarships are available, will students be reviewed through the selection procedure of
this grant. Students receiving Taiwan Scholarships may not concurrently accept this grant.
Kaohsiung Medical University (KMU) Scholarship
This is strictly limited to applicants who hold a foreign (Non-Taiwanese)passport, and who register as a Full-Time student in KMU. In addition to this requirement, applying students must ALSO comply with one of the following
conditions, in order to be eligible for Scholarship Application:
Condition One
Undergraduate Students:
(1)Must have been officially studying in KMU for one year or more;
(2)Must have an average score of 70 (seventy) or above in the previous academic year, and;
(3)Must have achieved a grade, based on their behavior/attitude, of 80 (eighty)or more.
Condition Two
Post-graduate Students:
(1)Must have been officially studying in KMU for one year or more;
(2)Must have an average score of 75 (seventy five) or above in the previous academic year;
(3)Must have achieved a grade, based on their behavior/attitude, of 80 (eighty) or more;
(4) During the period of writing a Master’s/Doctoral thesis, even if a student does not have the previous year’s academic record of performance, he/she may still be permitted to apply for this scholarship. However, the applicant must submit his/her research proposal agreed by his/her academic supervisor. This proposal should outline in detail the purpose of, and motivation for, the proposed research, plus the theme of the research, method of data collection, essay outline, and references, etc. Using this kind of qualification route, the student can only apply for this scholarship once.
Condition Three
First-Year Students:
Are required to provide the highest educational diploma and transcript they
have attained at the date of their application.

Freshman: Applicants must submit the grant application form
concurrently with admission application process.
Current student: Applicants should make an application during the
application period with submitting documents below.

2. Transcripts (class ranking is necessary)
3. Two reference letters
4. Other documents that beneficial for selection procedure
Kaohsiung Medical University (KMU) Scholarship
The examination standard of this scholarship is decided by every department.
Every department will examine the information of applicants with the above
examination standard and make a recommendation with ranking. Then, submit
the list of recommendation students, application and other related materials to
Office of Global Affairs within three weeks after the announcement deadline.
