Honorary White coats for medical students in Taiwan

The Swaziland Medical Students in Taiwan who enrolled in Medicine in September 2013, were conferred with honorary white coats at I-Shou University in Kaohsiung last Tuesday.
The students, who are halfway through a four-year post-graduate programme, are the first to be recruited by the university's School of Medicine for International Students since the school was established in 2013 in compliance with a Taiwan’s government policy aimed at cultivating international medical professionals among Taiwan's diplomatic allies.
The event was graced by the country’s President Ma Ying-jeou.
Addressing the white coat ceremony, President Ma Ying-jeou said he was inspired by Cuba's medical relief to various countries to come up with the idea of helping the country's diplomatic allies to train their students using Taiwan's medical resources.
All the 32 medical students were part of the ceremony and got the opportunity to take pictures with the ident Ma Ying and Founder of I Shou University Ishou Lin. Also present were cabinet ministers, Dean of the School of Medicine, Superitendent of the Eda Hospital and the Superintendent of Eda Cancer Hospital.
