II.1.5)Short description of the contract or purchase(s):
Suppliers / Service Providers will be required to provide inlet screens, screenings handling equipment, screen spares & parts, screenings handling equipment spares & parts and screen services & support to United Utilities Water Plc (UUW) and other Procurers namely the Alliance Partners, Capital Maintenance Partners and other United Utilities Water Plc Framework Service Providers where applicable.
The requirement is broken down into three (3) lots and Applicants can respond to one lot, more than one and all lots.
Lot 1) The supply, delivery and installation of new & replacement Fine & Coarse Inlet Screens and Screenings Handling Equipment including conveyors & compactors to the United Utilities Water Plc Standard(s).
Additional services including associated recovery of existing screen and screenings handling equipment assets, electrical work, pipe work and valve work may be required as part of this lot. There may be a need for the Supplier(s) / Service Providers to take a Principle Contractor Role with Construction Design Management (CDM) responsibility.
Lot 2) The provision of quality spares and parts for Inlet Screens and Screen Handling Equipment to support existing United Utilities Water Plc Fine & Coarse Inlet Screens and Screenings Handling Equipment assets.
Lot 3) Planned and reactive screen services including repair and refurbishment provision, technical and operational support of new & existing United Utilities Water Plc Inlet Screens and Screenings Handling Equipment.
Other Framework Services will include, but are not limited to, the measurement & reporting of key performance indicators (KPI) via monthly reports and participation in quarterly Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) review meetings to drive continuous improvement.
In line with EU Procurement Directives United Utilities Water Plc is undertaking this procurement using the negotiated procedure with the publication of a contract notice.
United Utilities Water Plc shall undertake the tender stage of the procurement process for project PRO401 electronically using the SAP eSourcing system.
United Utilities Water Plc also reserves the right to use at tender stage an electronic reverse auction as a means of obtaining a Best And Final Offer (BAFO), for the goods & services detailed in the Invitation To Tender (ITT) document.
It is the intention of United Utilities Water Plc to award a Framework to a number of Suppliers/Service Providers for an initial five (5) year term with an option to extend upon mutual agreement for up to a further sixty (60) months.

The Framework will consist of the Supply, Delivery and Installation of Inlet Screens, Screening Handling Equipment, Screen Spares and Screen Maintenance & Overhaul Services and will be split into 3 lots:
Lot 1) The supply, delivery and installation of new & replacement Fine & Coarse Inlet Screens and Screenings Handling Equipment including conveyors & compactors to the United Utilities Water Plc Standard(s).
Lot 2) The provision of quality spares and parts for Inlet Screens and Screen Handling Equipment to support existing United Utilities Water Plc Fine & Coarse Inlet Screens and Screenings Handling Equipment assets.

It is essential that fit for purpose screening and handling equipment is selected with optimum performance and least whole life cost, to ensure minimal operational intervention at an optimal cost.
