The Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL) is the only Mandarin language test officially recognised in Taiwan.
Passing a TOCFL exam at a Band B or higher is a mandatory requirement for entry to Mandarin-taught programmes covered by the Taiwan Scholarship.
Recipients of the 9-month Huayu Enrichment Scholarship are requested to submit a certificate or transcripts of a TOCFL Band B (or higher) exam one month prior the end of their scholarship.
Test-takers can choose to undertake the test in either simplified or traditional characters.
